Things to See and Do

Stop by the Lowcountry Visitors Center and Museum, a refurbished 1800s Plantation home, the "Frampton House".
Beautiful, magnificent oak trees draped in Spanish moss frame the house and in the backyard there are Civil War earthworks erected by General Robert E. Lee.
The Center provides information on Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper counites and features displays from ten area museums.
The house also features a gift shop and a recreated 19th Century parlor, complete with antique furnishings.
The Lowcountry Visitors Center is open from 8am to 5pm seven days a week and admission is free.

Spend an extra day exploring the beautiful and historic Lowcountry of South Carolina.
In nearby Pocotaligo one can see the Old Sheldon Church ruins, Circa 1745. It was burned by the British
during the revolution, rebuilt it was burned again by General Sherman in the American
Civil War.
